Licensing Next Steps

Ok, I’ve taken the course, now what?

First off, great job taking the course and passing the exams! Here’s what will happen, and what you will need to do.

Within a couple of days of the course, I will have taken all of your paperwork and mailed it off to FSESO in Orillia. They will process them, and send back two (2) copies of the RCMP 5484 form (the one you filled out at the beginning of the course) and where I entered all the course information and your exam results after). This will take 4-6 weeks.

If you have not received your paperwork back within 6 weeks, please contact the FSESO.

FSESO Contact information:
E-mail: info@fseso.org

First and Last Name

Course Start Date

Applying for your PAL (non-restricted and restricted):

Do not apply until you receive your paperwork back from FSESO – you will need to send that in when you apply.

If you’re 18 years old or older, you can find the application form at the RCMP website here. You’ll want form 5592. Or apply online here.

Make sure you follow all the instructions, and completely fill out the form. Any errors or omissions will lead to a delay in your application being processed. Note:

If you are between 12 and 18 years old, please contact the Canadian Firearms Program at: (800) 731-4000 x7548 to obtain a minor’s license application.
